Why should I Bother?

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is the World’s leading achievement Award. It is recognised in over 100 countries Worldwide and has been going for over 50 years. A recent survey in Britain showed that it was the most highly valued extra curricular activity or award by all the major employees.

You will have the opportunity to learn new skills or simply use the Award to accredit activities you already do. You’ll make new friends and work as a member of a team. You will have something really meaningful to put on your CV. You will be demonstrating to future employers, and yourself, that you have commitment, motivation and persistence.

In addition, once you achieve the first award you will automatically be entered for Wrexham’s Youth University where gaining the Bronze award also gains you the first Level of the University - you’re getting 2 Awards for the same activities!
